Cal Youth Programs has developed three unique program offerings for youth of UC Berkeley Affiliated Families*. These engaging programs meet and adhere to all local, state, and federal guidelines. Strawberry Canyon Youth Program
This comprehensive youth program is led by experienced Youth Program professionals. Youth may participate in full day or half day programs designed for the needs of each family. Programming includes educational enrichment and academic support, arts + crafts, sports + fitness, exploratory science, and so much more. Youth participants must bring their own water, lunch and snack daily. This program is open to youth of UC Berkeley faculty, staff and currently registered student families*.

AM Component (8:30 a.m .– 2:00 p.m.): Educational Enrichment Program with staff tutors and dedicated teaching professionals.
PM Component (2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.): Recreational Out-of-School time program led by experienced Youth Program staff.

Program Information
- Open to ages 5 – 11 (youth must be enrolled in Kindergarten or a higher grade).
- WiFi connectivity for students to plug-in and learn remotely with the support of dedicated program staff and educational professionals.
- Recreational Activities include: Archery (age 8 and up), Arts & Crafts, Basketball, Table Tennis, Field Sports & Games, and much more**.
- All recreational activity supplies and equipment are provided.
- Youth Participants must bring their own lunch and snack daily.

- This program provides instruction on essential movements and body shapes in gymnastics.
- Through safe and fun progressions, gymnasts will develop the strength and flexibility unique to gymnastics.
- The Golden Bears Youth Gymnastics program follows guidelines set forth by the USA Gymnastics Association (USAG). USAG is a national governing body that is dedicated to the development of gymnastics.
- Boys are encouraged to attend.

Cal Skateboarding – L8 Skate Program
This specialty Youth Program is led by trained and experienced skate professionals. This program emphasizes skateboard skill building and development skills. Youth get to learn and practice at the home of the only half-pipe skateboard facility in Northern California. Youth participants must bring their own water and snack daily. UC Berkeley faculty, staff and currently registered student families*.

Program Information
- Open to youth ages 8 – 14.
- Safety pads and helmets must be provided by participant. Skateboard can be provided by the facility upon email request.
- Youth Participants must bring their own snack daily.
- Our expert instructors have experience teaching youth skateboarding and are screened for their ability to work with both new and experienced skaters.
- Beginners will learn skateboard mechanics and basic riding skills such as balance, carving, riding transitions, and dropping-in.
- Advanced skaters learn grinds, ollies, and airs, and have the chance to learn to drop in on bigger ramps, and learn flip tricks.
- Skaters will be assessed at the beginning of the program, and lessons will be individually adapted to each skater’s ability.
- All participants are educated in skateboard safety, which includes ways to fall that minimize injury.
- Girls are encouraged to attend.
