Girls Intermediate & Advanced

These classes are for gymnasts who have mastered all their basic skills and are ready for the next level of skills and tumbling on all four events.

Year-Round Youth Programs and Camps for Summer 2020 Cancelled – Due to COVID-19 considerations, Rec Sports has cancelled all in-person youth programming (all summer camps as well as year-round Archery, Recreational and Competitive Gymnastics, Skate Classes, and Swimming Lessons) for summer 2020. Girls Intermediate

This class is designed for the gymnasts displaying skills with consistency, enthusiasm, and motivation. Students advance to this level after mastering the required skills from Girls Beginning 3. Gymnasts begin learning more advanced skills, connecting advanced skills in a sequence, and performing these skills at a more independent level.

Eligibility

Prerequisite: Successful completion of all Girls Beginning 3 skills. If moving from an outside gym, students can be assessed for a level recommendation.

Price

Once per week: $110 per month

Twice per week: $185 per month (Sign up for the two sections you would like, and your account will be credited.)

Next Level

Gymnast move to Girls Advanced after the successful acquisition of all required skills, and continued positive work ethic.

Duration: 1 hour 25 minutes

Location: Golden Bear Recreation Center

Girls Advanced

The final step in the recreational track is Girls Advanced. Gymnasts continue improving skills already gained, connecting skills together, and mastering some of the most difficult skills for recreational gymnasts. This class is taught by experienced coaches and demands a great level of attention to detail.

Eligibility

Prerequisite: Successful completion of all Girls Intermediate skills

Price

Once per week: $135 per month

Twice per week: $205 per month (Sign up for the two sections you would like, and your account will be credited.)

Next Level

Competition opportunities available by tryout and invitation.

Class Details

Golden Bears Youth Gymnastics requires payment of fees through our automatic charge program. Charges to your credit card will be posted during the first week of the month. Charges will continue until you have notified GOLDEN BEAR in writing (via email) that you wish to discontinue your participation in our program. Changes must be made by the first of the month to avoid being charged for the next month. To cancel, send an email to us at: gbgym@berkeley.edu.

Weekend classes are very popular and in high demand. Our calendar is based on a year-round average of 4 classes per month. If Saturday or Sunday classes fall below this average, there will be no refunds. We will arrange make-ups if space is available.

A registration fee is applied to each class. If you want to transfer classes please email gbgym@berkeley.edu to avoid the fee. This is a non-refundable fee.

Cancellations

Every Golden Bears Youth Gymnastics class is subject to cancellation due to low enrollment. If your class is being canceled, you will be contacted and given options to transfer. If you have any questions, please email gbgym@berkeley.edu.

Waitlist

If you are interested in a class that is full, please email gbgym@berkeley.edu to be placed on the waitlist. If a spot opens, you will be informed via email.

Make-ups are provided as a courtesy to our customers if there is space available. Make-ups must be scheduled no more than 7 days in advance by emailing gbgym@berkeley.edu. Make-ups are only available to currently enrolled clients. Participants must pick up an official make-up slip from the cashier on the first floor and give it to the teacher of the scheduled class. Drop-ins are not allowed. No make-ups may be scheduled on Saturdays except for Bear Cubs 1 classes. Golden Bears Youth Gymnastics does not offer credits or refunds.
