Blue Camp - Grizzlies

Join the fun in this active outdoor day camp where campers try variety of activities that range from swimming and soccer to lacrosse and volleyball.

Year-Round Youth Programs and Camps for Summer 2020 Cancelled – Due to COVID-19 considerations, Rec Sports has cancelled all in-person youth programming (all summer camps as well as year-round Archery, Recreational and Competitive Gymnastics, Skate Classes, and Swimming Lessons) for summer 2020. For more information, read our FAQs.

Overview

At Blue Camp, play and learning are core values. Recess and play have decreased and children are spending more time on screens and doing homework. Children need play and physical activity to support their mental health and well-being. Blue Camp combines sport and arts instruction with times for free play and games.

Two-Week Camps offer campers the most variety and ability to customize their own schedule. Some activities like Archery and Magic The Gathering are only available on the two-week track. Swim lessons are an option.

One-Week Camps offer campers a range of activities that are pre-determined by the program directors. Swim lessons are an option.

Campers must be ages 11-13 (by December 1, 2020) or entering grades 6-8 in order to register for this camp.

Camp Details

One-week campers are all grouped together on a special one-week activity program. They are not placed in activities with two-week campers. You do not need to select preferences for one-weekers, as their activities are pre-selected based on the most popular activities at camp. Not all classes are offered on the one-week camp. Bears are automatically placed in swimming, so please indicate if you would like your camper to swim. If you would like more flexibility for your camper’s schedule, we suggest signing up for our Drop-In camp for the whole week or the two-week session.

Two-week Campers fill out an activity preference form when registering where they rank order their top ten activity choices. Campers participate in 3 activities in the morning and 3 activities in the afternoon and campers are on that same schedule for the duration of their session. Archery and Swimming are very popular, so please list those as your #1 and #2 activity preferences. Campers registered prior to March 15 are given priority selection and are scheduled into their activities before those who register after March 15. Campers who come to more than one session in a summer can update their preferences online two weeks before their session begins. Archery and Magic The Gathering are only offered during the two-week camps.
