Cal has a wide variety of active clubs, DeCal courses, student groups, and programs that engage the gaming community. From leadership programs to casual gameplay clubs, there is a group for everyone.
Gaming Clubs
Gaming clubs are communities of gamers, competitors, and esports fans who connect over their passion for video games.
Cal Esports Student Leadership Group
The Cal Esports Student Leadership Group provides a more direct access point for the gaming clubs and communities to receive support, feedback, and provide input for the direction and execution of Cal Esports events and programs.
Cal Esports Student Leadership Group members are selected from current student leaders in gaming communities on campus. Joining a club and contributing to their election process shapes the Cal Esports program.
Marginalized Genders in Gaming
Cal Marginalized Genders in Gaming is a UC Berkeley student club dedicated to creating social space, professional development opportunities, and a community for marginalized genders in games. CMGG hosts weekly events during the semester — visit their Facebook page for more information on how to attend and become a member.
DeCals
The DeCal Program is a collection of student-run courses at Berkeley where students create and facilitate their own classes on a variety of emerging and important subjects. Several of these courses directly address gaming and esports and have open enrollment.
