Cal Adventures offers a number of paddleboarding classes for all levels.
Intro to Stand-Up Paddleboarding
Intro to Paddleboarding will help participants develop fundamental skills such as balance, effective paddling/stroke, steering and falling/recovery techniques. The Berkeley Marina is the perfect location to learn the basics, develop stamina for longer paddles, and prepare you for the challenge — and the thrill — of wave surfing.

Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga at Spieker Pool
Join us for yoga on a stand-up paddleboard at Spieker Pool on the U.C. Berkeley campus. Paddleboards are anchored to lane lines as participants are led through a series of Ashtanga Vinyasa poses. No experience necessary. Pre-registration encouraged. Walk-up registrations are allowed if the class has not reached the maximum enrollment of 8.

- A rash guard or similar synthetic-material top layer for colder days.
- Even if you don’t fall off the board, you will have to get wet when you swim to get on it, so if you’re concerned about being cold, we suggest bringing an extra towel or shammy to keep on the board if you’d like to dry off when you initially get on the board.
- We will provide complimentary wetsuits and lifevests if you’d like to wear them, though not required.
