Communications Associate – Now Hiring!
The Rec Sports Communications unit is tasked with promoting Rec Sports programs and services to students and the campus community. We do this via several channels: websites, email, social media, video, photos, events, and more.
Job Duties
- Coordinate Rec Sports social media (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram) via the creation and execution of creative posts and campaigns
- Coordinate, synthesize and analyze information to develop comprehensive, effective written content for a variety of marketing materials, including press releases, profiles, advertisements, web pages, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Analyze the programs’ and facilities’ goals and objectives, assess marketing needs, develop marketing campaigns and materials to solve those needs, and communicate plans to Communications Manager
- Draft and develop content for targeted email marketing campaigns
Pay rate: $15 per hour

Photographer – Now Hiring!
The Rec Sports Communications unit is tasked with promoting Rec Sports programs and services to students and the campus community. We do this via several channels: websites, email, social media, video, photos, events, and more.
Job Duties
- Under the direction from Communications Manager and consistent with Department guidelines photograph special events, classes, games, team pictures, and profile pictures.
- Post processing/photo editing and conduct photo shoots for marketing purposes.
- Assist the marketing and communications team in occasional distribution of publications and other marketing and graphics duties as assigned.
- Programs include but not limited to Aquatics, Cal Adventures, Fitness & Wellness, Gymnastics, Intramural Sports, Inclusive Recreation, Martial Arts, Sport Clubs, and Youth Programs.
Pay rate: $15 per hour

Graphic Designer
The purpose of the Graphic Design Intern is to assist the Marketing & Communications team in promoting the Department of Recreational Sports and its unit areas through the design and production of related marketing materials.
Job Duties
- Design and produce various print and publication media, including flyers, posters, brochures, signage, under the direction of the Communications Manager & Coordinator and consistent with department style guidelines
- Design graphics for digital media (website, emails, etc.) using various programs within the Adobe Suite
- Develop and design creative solutions
- Perform various administrative functions including copying, printing, laminating, etc.
- Become adept at the breadth and diversity of the Dept. of Recreational Sports’ programs and offerings.
