Dessert-Rae has been working as a full-time certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor for the past decade in San Francisco and the Bay Area. She has worked in a few commercial gyms for 3-5yrs on average, as well as a few private studios and gyms, giving her a breadth of experience to a wide variety of clientele, fitness environments and cultures. This exposure has helped her develop a strength in communication and coaching that has expanded her ability to help people with all kinds of backgrounds and goals. During that time, she also explored and expanded her own athleticism. From Cross Country to Competitive Weightlifting and Powerlifting, she continues to hone her craft and profession first by doing and living the life. Secondly through education as she has acquired many certifications, attended multiple seminars and workshops, and is continuing her formal education by pursuing the NSCA CSCS distinction and a Master’s in Kinesiology and Nutritional Science.
Dessert-Rae believes we must never let ourselves be a slave to our circumstances. She also believes we need to craft the will to live and build the strength to do it well. This strength is anchored in movement but is deeply connected to our mental and emotional states, and through this integrated understanding and approach, we can unlock our potential and power. She believes we must strive to live our best lives as our best selves, and encourage others to do so as well both by example and by passing on everything you learn to the next person and generation.
“Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”
