The Cal Women’s Club Water Polo Team is currently ranked fifth in the nation, and although we can be competitive, the top priorities of the team are school, camaraderie, and fun. We have a wide variety of skill, talent, and experience on the team, ranging from former NCAA D1 athletes to individuals who are brand new to the sport. Whether you have previously played water polo or not, everyone is welcome. As such, we do not hold tryouts – the only requirement is that you can swim, of course!
Our off-season is Fall semester, during which we typically practice 2-3 nights/week and compete in 1-2 tournaments over the course of the semester. Our season begins Spring semester, during which we typically practice 3-4 nights/week and compete in 1-2 tournaments per month. The past two years, we have also gone to the Collegiate Club National Championship Tournament, where we placed 11th (in 2013) and 5th (in 2014).
