Inspiring people to fitness is one of My’s greatest achievements. Growing up, My was always curious about how the body moves in sports and everyday movements such as walking and running. My started exploring her deeper interest in fitness while she was a student at San Jose State, which provided a strong Human Performance program that believed physical activity is an important part of academics. While studying, she began taking physical activities classes from beginning gymnastics to scuba diving. My has completed two full marathons and participated in San Jose State Cross Country, SJSU track and field Club, and SJSU Boxing Club.
My has been a personal trainer since 2003. She teaches TRX, yoga classes and works in spas as an Esthetician. With experience over 9 years, My has helped many of her clients lose weight, tone bodies, enhance wellbeing, gain confidence, and increase strength. My shows persistence and patience when training with her clients by taking them through proper progression to meet their fitness goals. My’s clients are very broad based, ranging from beginners with very little or no background in fitness or nutrition to advanced athletes.
When My is not in the gym she loves to challenge her body to learn a new skill. She is currently learning aerial rope. She enjoys participating in dance classes or different yoga classes on her days off and likes to spend her time running long trails
My’s philosophy as a personal trainer is to find the right balance. This means balance with corrective exercises, resistance training, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, nutrition, and massage. As a trainer, My balances all components of training with the appropriate intensity to achieve the goals set for each individual.
“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong; that hardy spirits and tough minds usually inhabit sound gods.” – JFK
