style="text-align: left;">Cal Rec Sports is an organization dedicated to enhancing the knowledge, wellness, fitness, personal skills and quality of life for students, faculty, staff, and the community. One of the programs through which we accomplish these goals is our Sport Club program.</p><p>The Cal Sport Club Program consists of 32 active student run sport clubs with over 1500 student athletes. This year our clubs have traveled all over the United States and even as far South Korea in the pursuit of athletic excellence. Each year Cal Rec Sports hosts an end of academic year banquet to honor the effort and accomplishments of these student athletes.</p><p>Men&#8217;s Lacrosse took home the coveted <em
style="font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">Most Outstanding Club</em> award for maintaining active membership, meeting deadlines, outstanding business and spending activities and demonstrating overall club improvements. <em>Coach of the Year</em> went to John Dahlz of Triathlon with honorable mentions to Men&#8217;s Lacrosse and Gymnastics. Daniel Cohen of Lacrosse and Laney Diggs of Figure Skating received the male and female <em>Athlete of the Year</em> awards for outstanding performance in their respective sports. Figure Skating also received the award for <em>Most Improved Club</em>, while Baseball took home <em>Most Organized Club.</em> And finally, Daniel Pace of Men&#8217;s Soccer and Kathrina Mathews of Equestrian each took home awards for <em>Officer of the Year</em>.
