Berkeley Fire Trail
Just behind the Strawberry Canyon Rec Area the “Fire Trail” awaits hikers and runners. This seven mile (roundtrip) trail twists its way up through Strawberry Canyon, offering views of the Campanile, the Golden Gate Bridge and Mt. Tamalpais. The trail starts at the SCRA parking lot and follows Centennial Drive for a short way before veering deeper into the canyon.
Note: Use this trail wisely – take water, bring a friend, and use only during daylight hours.
Clark Kerr/Claremont Canyon Trails
Another fine set of trails can be found just behind the Clark Kerr campus, near Dwight Way. This trail can be a real glut buster, but the views are worth it. To access the trails, take the path that leads up the hill just to the Northeast of the Golden Bear running track. Best access to the trail is near the top of Dwight Way.
