Employment Opportunities in Aquatics

The Cal Aquatic Masters (CALM) swim team is a 160+ adult swim team located on the Berkeley campus. Our mission is to provide training, coaching, and the opportunity to participate in swimming; promote physical and mental fitness; and to encourage and support interest in competitive swimming.

 

Position

Assistant coaches are talented individuals who contribute to our continued excellence at the masters swimming level. Swimmer backgrounds range from open water and competitive swimmers to people who just want to stay in shape and become better swimmers. Assistant coaches create a safe, fun and encouraging on-deck environment while providing feedback to all swimmers in support of their goals.

 

Qualifications

Required: Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid; Lifeguard Training required within two months of employment. Possess a passion for the sport of swimming and working with swimmers. Previous experience working with coached swim teams (required) and adult swimmers (preferred) Attend regular SCAM staff meetings.

 

Work Hours

Variable. Workouts are weekdays 6-9am, 11a-12n, 6-7pm; Saturday 7-10am.

 

Pay Rate

$14.37 per hour
